An elongated, boat-like form carrying a spectrum across its interior surface, moss, ember, indigo, ash, and patterned.
Made from red clay, the warmth of the body glows beneath layered glazes and painterly surface work. Flecked with scattered constellations of color, the interior reads like sky reflected in water or memory suspended in earth.
Displayed horizontally, it becomes a vessel in motion a boat, a cradle, a horizon line.
Displayed vertically, it becomes a portal, a threshold, an eye, an opening.
While functional in structure, Portal 2OZSC exists equally as a sculptural wall object. It may be used for serving or display, but its presence alone carries weight.
