What we Bring

What We Bring invites participants to take part in the creation of a single large-scale ceramic vessel, built slowly, collectively, and with intention. Every weekend a limited number are welcome to participate by rolling coils, assisting with form-building, and all welcome to witnessing the vessel’s growth over time.

During the making process, visitors may also contribute short reflections or word on paper, which will be gently enclosed within the vessel as it is built, held inside the form as part of the work’s interior.

Base Throw

I will begin the pot by creating a large bowl on the wheel. Those that wish to witness and dialogue can purchase a seat at the table to welcome this undertaking and lend their good will.

Build Phase

Every day of weekends this month will begin with adding to this piece. Those who wish to participate at this stage will help create coils, add to the piece and also make carriers of our written words that we will nestle in the vessel.

Final Decoration

On this day we will commit lines, symbols and marks to the surface of the vessel. There will be color, tools and the culmination of magic that we bring together.
