Ceramic Wall Hanging Original Work in Black Clay, Glaze, and Glass
Tide Wounds is a 10-inch square ceramic wall hanging, hand-built from black clay and designed to be both sculptural and symbolic. Anchored by a carved, textured background, the piece features three-dimensional shell-like growths that seem to emerge organically from the surface—vessels of memory, growth, and silent witness.
Each shell form is filled with layers of glaze and fused glass, pooling in vibrant, molten depths that catch and refract light. These pockets evoke sea life, resilience, and remnants—wounds that have become containers of color, story, and survival. The carved backdrop is textured by hand to mimic geologic layers, wave-worn stone, and ritual scarification—a record of history and place, both intimate and cosmic.
The surface invites both sight and touch, offering viewers a sense of both permanence and fragile transformation.
Materials: Black clay, ceramic glaze, fused glass Dimensions: 10" H x 10" W x 2.5" D (approx.) Finish: Multi-glaze with glass inclusions Mounting: Ready to hang Edition: Original, one-of-one
Tide Wounds is a meditation on rupture and resilience—each shell a wound, each cavity a container of light. This work is meant for wall display but carries the presence of a relic, a poetic object that merges craft, history, and elemental beauty.
